Panel I. How Brexit and Covid-19 Have Restructured the World
2020 has been a unique year. With nations stuck with aftershock brought by the COVID-19, global economy is facing unprecedented challenges. How will the world resume orders, and economies seek new forms of collaboration remain ambiguous. However, that biggest economies shall lead this journey seems definite. With UK finalizing its Brexit deal, we could anticipate a brand-new partnership between China, UK and EU in the near future. Panel II. Investment Opportunities in Asia and Europe
December 30, 2020 marked the completion of negotiation for the China-EU Comprehensive Agreement on Investment. The culmination of this seven-year-long negotiation motivate investors worldwide to refocus on investment opportunities in Asia and Europe. How can businesses in these two different continents learn from each other? For instance, is maturity and sophistication of high-end product manufactures in Europe compatible with the advanced operational and logistical efficiency of manufactures of mass products in Asia? How could such business development incubate new investment opportunities? We invite both primary market investors, including investment bankers, PE and VC professionals, and secondary market investors to boost a multi-dimensional discussion about investment opportunities in Asia and Europe.

Due to social distancing measures, media and social platforms have been significantly challenged: suspension of filming, loss of theatre audience, shutdown of cinemas, etc. Despite such challenges, the pandemic has prompted emerging industrial transformation. From the fever of streaming videos to the boom of video games and paid original content, plenty of activities have demonstrated immediate repercussions. Challenges and opportunities are both enormous, creating questions with no evident answers: which changes will persist? The Covid-19 has decimated the global fashion and luxury industry. Decline in sales, disrupted supply chain, and rapidly shifting consumer behavior are likely to continuously weigh on the sector until 2022. The global fashion and luxury market shrank by 23% in 2020 while China’s market share has increased by 10%. Will this rebounding demand be sustainable in China? How does the pandemic impact global fashion and luxury businesses, and their relationship with the China market? We will cover the topics of acceleration of online shopping, new investment opportunities and sustainable innovation.
